The dormitory is a new facility added to the existing campus of the Verde Valley Guidance Clinic. The clinic occupies the top of a hill overlooking the Verde Valley in Northern Arizona.  The dormitory is sited on the brow of the hill, below the existing campus, so that the views from the existing facility are not obstructed.  At the center of the dormitory is a large common area, flanked on one side by the residents’ bedrooms and on the other by the staff wing.  The design of the facility responds to the residents need for both privacy and community, while ensuring their safety in a secure, supervised environment.  The facility has ample natural light, and includes a kitchen, a vegetable garden and a shaded courtyard for the residents use.  This project was a collaboration between architect Wilson Peterson and landscape architect Steve Biasini.
